Ingrid Slezak's biography

Attorney Ingrid E. Slezak specializes in divorce and family law mediation. Ingrid practiced family law for 12 years before turning full-time to mediation in 1994. Her practice deals with all aspects of family law, including separations, custody, parenting time schedules, property settlements, spousal and child support, as well as Prenuptial and domestic partnership agreements. She also serves as a collaborative lawyer, a court-appointed attorney to represent children in custody and visitation disputes, and as a parenting coordinator.

Ingrid holds her bachelor’s degree from Harvard and her law degree from Boston College. She received specialized training in mediation from the Center for Dispute Resolution in Boulder, Colorado and from the Harvard Law School Mediation Program. She has additional training from the graduate tax program at the University of Denver.

A member of the Oregon Bar, Ingrid is a Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and a Senior Mediator of the Oregon Mediation Association. She also serves on the board of the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practitioners, and has served as a member of the Oregon Family Law Task Force, the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, and the Executive Committee of the Multnomah Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. As a consultant to Clackamas County Family Court Services, she developed the mandatory Parent Education class given in Clackamas and Multnomah counties.

FinPlan software

As part of the mediation process, Ingrid Slezak uses FinPlan software from West® Publishing Company. FinPlan helps us to efficiently collect, organize, interpret, and explain the complex myriad of details regarding the income, budgets, assets, and liabilities of the two parties in mediation. The software also helps generate “what if” scenarios to help you and your spouse understand the financial consequences of various decisions you might make regarding the division of assets and liabilities, as well as the after-tax effects of different spousal support options.
